Alex and Pete are two 40 year old guys still playing ball.
Their league (Boston MSBL 30+) switched to all wood in 2001. During that season, they both looked for good lumber and found what was available from
local retailers was just inferior no matter what the quality stamped on the bat said. Alex stumbled onto a Canadian bat maker hand crafting Ash and Maple bats to order. After
trying them, they found the quality and durability to be excellent. In 2002, they became New England distributors. They realized that they could never get enough bats from one half assed company. So the contacted another, and another and started having custom bats made to their specs.
The goal: to distribute quality lumber at below retail prices to a growing number of wood bat leagues and players. So began the Thunder Bat Co. We have simplified our offerings over the years to keep it simple for you to choose.
We are not a bat store, more like a bat broker. We buy a dozen or more bats and get a price break from the bat maker. We offer you the savings over buying them one at a time. We will always supply you the best bats at the best price, from Custom orders to off the shelf sales. We can not gaurentee the bats in stock today will be re-stocked tomorrow. Your buying habits will in large part, decide what we will offer in the future.
At TBC we don't make them but we use them. We order and stock bats each season to save you money. A portion of each sale goes to support The Middlesex Thunder Baseball Club, a tournament team of over 30/40 year old nit-wits still playing ball.
